I was recently asked to deliver an Electrical Awareness course at a company that had just had some new equipment delivered ready for commissioning. It turned out to be a great opportunity to combine theory and practice in a real work context.
I was able to flex the course so that we could relate elements of it to the equipment, working out how cables might run and what connected in what order to what and why. In this case one could see in vivid detail how training with the actual kit to be used accelerated understanding and added value to the course.
For me it reinforced the belief that is a foundation of my training business – that almost any form of training course benefits from being delivered on site in the immediacy of a working context. It is a context that an experienced trainer can use to maximise the impact of teaching.
